Profhilo

Our cosmetic specialists at the Royal Wharf Clinic are highly trained in the administration of Profilo: a premium dermal filler alternative perfect for those looking to go beyond a general “fill and plump'', and instead are looking for more natural results that accentuate their youthful features.

Profhilo

Profhilo is an injectable skin remodeling agent containing high concentrations of hyaluronic acid, a substance found naturally in the skin. It was designed and produced by a leading pharmaceutical company in Switzerland and has been rigorously tested, proving to produce outstanding results. Allergy tests are not often required before the administration of Profhilo due to its formulation as it’s as close to natural human hyaluronic acid as you can get.

The treatment works by slowly releasing hyaluronic acid to facilitate the production of collagen and elastin – two crucial skin components responsible for skin tone, volume, and elasticity. The high hyaluronic acid concentration of Profhilo allows for continuous skin rejuvenation that shows results just one week after your procedure.

Profhilo injections are administered using a fine needle which ensures little to no pain or discomfort. The procedure itself is quick, easy, and offers fantastic long-term results. Our cosmetic specialists who administer Profhilo have been trained to exceptional standards to ensure minimal chances of causing complications.

If you are feeling troubled by loose, saggy skin, and are looking for a non-invasive rejuvenating solution, then contact the Royal Wharf Clinic at your soonest convenience to discuss your treatment options.

NEED TO KNOW

Profhilo is administered in line with the fine contours of your face in order to produce natural, long-lasting results that leave you looking young, fresh, and ready to take on the world. You may have some questions or concerns regarding the treatment, so we’ve compiled a list of the top need-to-know points below to help guide your decision. What will it feel like? - Our staff are highly trained in the administration of cosmetic injectibles such as Profhilo. The injections themselves are small and fine, and so should only cause little discomfort. We use the best techniques that ensure minimal pain is felt. We do offer numbing cream that can be applied before the procedure to help make the process more comfortable. You may need multiple injections - Profhilo is injected using a small, shallow needle that targets the areas just below the surface of the skin. Multiple injection sites may be used to produce the best effect. A second session may be required 2-4 weeks later to facilitate the process, and a following 6-monthly booster is advised to maintain results. Set realistic expectations - Profhilo does not produce a filled or plump effect as per other dermal fillers. Instead, Profhilo works by slowly restoring natural collagen and elastin which rejuvenate the face over time.
Before we can proceed with your treatment, you’ll be required to undergo a comprehensive consultation with one of our cosmetic consultants. This consultation has been put in place to give you the opportunity to raise any questions or concerns about the treatment, discuss your treatment goals, and allow for a skin analysis so that we can confirm whether or not you will be legible for treatment.

Your consultant will also talk you through the treatment process explaining where and how the injections will occur, describe to you what you may feel, and discuss with you alternative or adjunctive treatments available at the Royal Wharf Clinic.

Once satisfied, we’ll ask you to register a profile using our HIPAA and GDPR-compliant system and fill out the appropriate consent forms for your procedure. Our staff will then book you in for your first appointment at a date and time tailored to your schedule and give you information regarding any pre-procedural preparation you may need to do.
Profhilo is generally well tolerated and causes little to no adverse effects. However, as with all non-surgical cosmetic treatments, there is a small risk of injection site-related side effects such as:

Pain – while Profhilo is being injected, you may feel a slight pinch or sting at the site of the treatment. This only lasts for a few seconds, and you’ll experience no pain by the time you leave the clinic. If you are particularly sensitive to pain or are feeling anxious about the injection, we can offer a numbing cream to be used on the site of treatment.
Minor bruising, small lumps, and swelling – as we are piercing your skin, your body’s immune system will react and may result in swelling or bruising around the treatment site. Additionally, you may feel small lumps on your face directly after treatment. We want to assure you that this is normal, and is only the product starting to diffuse across your skin. These lumps will diminish over the course of a day.
Injection site infection – although very rare, an infection may occur at the injection site. We comply with the tightest regulations when administering Profhilo to ensure that the risk of infection is minimal.

Although the side effect profile of Profhilo is minimal, some individuals may be ineligible for treatment. The contraindications for Profhilo injections are:

Allergy – anyone allergic to any of the ingredients in the product will not be a suitable candidate for treatment.
Bleeding disorders – Profihlo injections cannot be administered in individuals on blood thinning medications or those who have known bleeding disorders due to the increased risk of bleeding associated with injections. Please let us know of all medications you do take prior to your treatment.
Immune conditions – individuals who are immunocompromised, such as those with cancer, HIV, or take immunocompromising medications, may be unsuitable for treatment due to the small risk of infection.

RECOVERY

Due to the minimally invasive nature of Profhilo treatment, recovery is often quick and easy, and lets you get back to lighter daily activities immediately. More strenuous exercises should not be performed until your face has healed, usually around 24-72 hours after the procedure. We advise you to avoid a hot bath or sauna for the first week after treatment and avoid extended exposure to UV light. Your results will be apparent within 5-7 days and should last for 6-9 months following your second dose.

FAQ

If you have any more questions regarding scar and stretch mark laser treatment in London, then take a look at the following frequently asked questions.
Profhilo is a unique dermal filler alternative used to naturally rejuvenate the face and revive youthful features. It is composed of hyaluronic acid which is a naturally found substance in the body that hydrates the skin and restores volume to the face and neck.
Unlike traditional dermal fillers like Juvederm, Profhilo is a light, viscous compound made using pure hyaluronic acid. Dermal fillers are thicker gels that are designed to fill out deep groves and create contours, whereas Profhilo is used to promote natural skin regeneration. Both treatments can be used together to enhance results.
Two initial sessions will be needed spaced two weeks apart. Once these sessions are complete, individuals should expect results anywhere between 6-9 months given there has been no negative influence from external factors such as smoking. Top-up treatments can be given every 6 months to maintain results.
Profhilo works best on individuals who display signs of ageing skin, such as loose or sagging skin, wrinkles, and fine lines. Therefore, Profhilo is best used in those aged 30 and over, but younger patients may also benefit from its preventative properties. Following an initial consultation with one of our consultants, we can decide whether or not you will be suitable for treatment.
